Byron Bay is an Australian holiday destination with no worries. See why this small beach hub is the perfect get away for anyone looking for an R & R holiday.
Byron Bay is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy one of Australia’s unique destinations. The attitude in Byron is laid-back and care-free. The mood throughout the small town encourages visitors to take their time and enjoy every minute of the day. And there are many ways to spend those precious minutes. Visitors can enjoy the stunning white beaches, the distinctive line of boutiques, and the exclusive collection of restaurants and bars all within a one kilometer area.
When planning a vacation to Byron Bay, the best way to travel is to fly into Ballina and catch a shuttle to a hotel in Byron. Once visitors arrive in the small airport, they will be met by a variety of shuttle services waiting to transport them. While those in the shuttle will have to wait for others to be dropped off as well, the process usually doesn’t take more than forty minutes, and it only costs $15 per person.
Hotels in Byron are a must. Anyone looking for a real holiday in Byron should steer away from hostels and back-packer stays. The condition of these back-packer “resorts” is quite below par and in some cases un-sanitary. If a visitor has time to plan, he or she should reserve a spot at the Beach Hotel. The hotel is the hub of the entire area, and it has gorgeous ocean views with excellent service to match.
Just a few steps from the Beach Hotel is Byron Bay’s main beach. A visitor will instantly focus on Byron Bay’s iconic light house that stands from one of the southern cliffs. As tourists continue to scan the beach, they will see a protruding rock in the middle of the ocean and more rolling mountains on the north side of the beach. The water is clear and the surf is calm much like the rest of Byron.
Small shops line each of the main streets of Byron. There are souvenir stores, beach-side collections, and ladies fashions that compare with the CBD of Sydney. It is good fun for any shopper.
Two restaurants lead the pack when dining in Byron. The first is the Balcony located just a couple of blocks from the beach. The restaurant is sheik, yet also warm and inviting. The best way to dine there is to make a reservation around sunset and then enjoy. The restaurant’s menu carries a large variety of inviting tapas as well as steak and seafood main courses. The Balcony’s house salad is excellent, and they have a large wine selection to choose from. The prices range from $25 to $45 for a main course and the tapas are between $10 and $20. Another restaurant that is known for its delicious food is Earth 'n' Sea Italian Restaurant. This Italian restaurant is a little more kid-friendly and is famous for its specialty pizzas. The chefs have tried every possible combination of pizza toppings and all of the good results are on the menu. They also serve superb pastas including an impressive seafood marinara. The prices for most main courses range from $15-$25.
