With some of the best funk n grooves artists in Australia, the Bimbadgen Blues Festival is the perfect excuse for a weekend getaway in Hunter Valley Wine Country.
More than 4 thousand people are expected to head to the Bimbadgen Estate in the Hunter Valley wine region in September for a day of great music, food, and of course wine. In a tenth anniversary shake up, the 2009 Bimbadgen festival has changed direction slightly, and adjusted its name to suit. The festival formerly known as Bimbadgen Blues is now Bimbadgen Blues Roots Funk n Grooves, and has set its sights on becoming the best Funk n Grooves festival in the country. The 2009 Festival will be held on Saturday the 12th of September, and will feature The Panics, Blue King Brown, Kram, Ash Grunwald, Bluejuice, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Dialectrix and Here Come the Birds. Funk n Grooves, Food n Wine in Hunter Valley Wine CountryEvent producer Grant Smith says the 2009 festival will have a fresh new look and feel. “We are trying to create something memorable and a little bit different to the other concerts and festivals in the Hunter Valley – there are going to be a few surprises on the day and we have a lot of ideas to implement as the event grows.” Smith says with so many of the artists having singles in the charts or about to be released, the festival is going to be a great opportunity to hear new music from top bands. Then there’s the venue itself. “Bimbadgen Estate is a fantastic venue for a festival,” Smith explains. “It has the best facilities, they do great food and drinks and the view is awesome. We will also have two completely different stage areas with all of the bands performing for an hour or more each which will really add to that festival feeling.” Festival Perfect Chance to Enjoy Hunter Valley Wine ToursAs the Bimbadgen Blues Roots Funk n Grooves festival only goes for one day, it gives festival goers a chance to enjoy some of the many Hunter Valley wine tours while they are in the region.
